China’s economy is ranked No 4 globally, and is expected to pass Japan as the second largest economy within 10 years.
For example, Chinese manufacturers currently produce 60% of the world’s bicycles, 50% of its shoes and 50% of its microwaves. At least 1,000 Chinese companies have achieved critical mass in revenues to consider entering the US market under their own brand in the next few years. This is being further accelerated by the government’s official Going Out Policy of creating 30 global brands by 2010.
Monogram launched our China practice in 2006. In order to better serve our Chinese clients, we have established a world-class network of resources and alliance relationships, including US and Chinese government agencies, consulting firms and leading Chinese companies.
In addition, we have established our thought leadership on Chinese brands in the US by publishing our own market research. Beginning in 2007, we have conducted an annual survey of 1,100 US consumers on their attitudes toward China and Chinese brands. Xinhua, the official government press agency, published our research in China in February, 2008. The story was quoted and published by all the major internet news portals and many newspapers throughout China.
