Change is Hard: PE’s Kaizen-led Firm on Founders, Families and Football

A person with medium-length brown hair, wearing glasses, a light blue shirt, and a dark blazer, is smiling slightly against a blurred light-colored background.
In Episode 5, we welcome our friend and client George Pilafas, Founding Partner at Continuim Equity Partners.

Among their beer stories, Scott and George begin the podcast with a provocative exchange recapping the recent Steelers Ravens game (spoiler alert: Pittsburgh scored 17 unanswered points in a comeback win). The two also discuss George’s co-founding of Continuim, whose name is derived from Continuous Improvement. This commitment to kaizen shows they walk the talk in demonstrating how “success starts at the shop floor and not the C-suite”.

George’s Bio
George earned his MBA from Wharton at UPenn, as a Palmer Scholar. Prior to founding the firm in 2021, George had thirteen years of industry experience, both as an investment banker at Stephens Inc. (focused on middle-market companies), and at PNC Mezzanine Capital where he directed deal execution and portco management (across several industrial businesses). George and his wife enjoy spending time with their three kids (all under the age of five).
